Ros Castle
Ros Castle is not a castle but a 3,000-year-old Iron Age hillfort on the summit of Ros Hill, high above the village of Chillingham. The grassy ramparts of this scheduled monument crown one of the best viewpoints in Northumberland, with a walk-in toposcope to help you read the landscape. On a clear day the panorama takes in the Cheviots, the coast and as many as seven castles, including the silhouette of Holy Island.
