Farne Islands
The Farne Islands are a cluster of low, rocky islands lying off the coast near Bamburgh, reached by boat from Seahouses. In summer they teem with seabirds โ puffins, guillemots, terns and kittiwakes nest in their thousands โ while a large colony of grey seals hauls out on the rocks year-round. Long linked to St Cuthbert, who lived as a hermit here, the islands remain one of the finest wildlife destinations in the country.
