Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor is a steep conical hill rising dramatically above the Somerset Levels, topped by the roofless tower of St Michael's church. Terraced by ancient earthworks of uncertain purpose, it has drawn pilgrims and seekers for centuries and sits at the heart of Avalon and Holy Grail legend. The climb is short but stiff, and the summit offers a vast circle of views over Glastonbury, the Mendips and the watery flatlands.
