Fyne Court
Fyne Court lies in the Quantock Hills at Broomfield in Somerset. The main house burned down in 1894, but its grounds survive as a nature reserve of broadleaf woodland, ponds, meadows and an arboretum. Here the eccentric scientist Andrew Crosse ran his electrical experiments in the early 1800s. A surviving folly with crenellated towers and a boathouse adds atmosphere to walks rich in fungi and birdsong.
