Force Crag Mine
Force Crag Mine sits high in the Coledale valley, the last working lead mine in the Lake District until a collapse closed it in 1990. Over the centuries it yielded lead, silver, barytes and zinc, and its surviving processing mill is now a scheduled monument. The National Trust opens the site by guided visit, where the original ore-dressing machinery still stands in place.
