Quarry Bank Mill
Quarry Bank Mill is one of the best-preserved textile mills of the Industrial Revolution, founded by Samuel Greg on the river Bollin in 1784. Working machinery, a giant iron waterwheel and historic steam engines still run, demonstrating cotton spinning as it once was. Around the mill survive the owner's house and garden, the workers' village and the Apprentice House, telling the harder story of those who laboured here.
