Hailes Abbey
Hailes Abbey was founded in 1246 by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, and grew rich as a pilgrimage destination drawing crowds to its celebrated relic. Henry VIII's dissolution left it a ruin, and today graceful cloister arches and grassy foundations are all that remain. A small museum displays carved bosses and floor tiles, and the surrounding meadows make it a peaceful, contemplative spot.
