Reigate Hill and Gatton Park
Reigate Hill is a breezy stretch of the North Downs escarpment, all chalk grassland, beech hangers and one of the great viewpoints over the Surrey Weald. Below it lies Gatton Park, a historic estate whose grounds were partly shaped by Capability Brown, with lakes, follies and a quirky relic of the old rotten-borough Parliament. Together they make a varied half-day of open downland and faded parkland charm.
