Princes Risborough Manor House
The Manor House at Princes Risborough is a handsome red-brick house of the mid-17th century, built on the site of an earlier Elizabethan dwelling. Its classical brick pilasters and well-spaced windows reflect the new ideas of the age, but the real treasure is inside: a spectacular oak staircase in the strapwork tradition, winding round a square well through two storeys. Largely shown by appointment, it rewards those who plan ahead.
