Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses
Kinver Edge is a wooded sandstone escarpment crowning the Staffordshire countryside, capped with heathland and the remains of an Iron Age hillfort. Cut into its cliffs are the famous rock houses, dwellings carved directly into the sandstone and inhabited well into the twentieth century. Several have been restored and furnished, and the ridge itself offers airy walks with long views across the surrounding counties.
