Hardcastle Crags
Hardcastle Crags is a steep-sided wooded ravine in the South Pennines, carved by Hebden Water on its way down to Hebden Bridge. Beech, oak and pine fill the valley, broken by waterfalls, stepping stones and miles of paths that wind beneath the gritstone crags. At its heart sits Gibson Mill, a former cotton mill turned visitor hub, while the woods are a stronghold for the rare northern hairy wood ant.
