Cotehele
Cotehele is one of the least-altered Tudor houses in the country, a romantic granite manor perched above the Tamar valley on the Cornish bank. Inside, dim rooms hang with tapestries, armour and old furniture, lit much as they were before electricity arrived. The estate sweeps down through gardens and orchards to a working quay, a watermill and a medieval chapel, all reachable on foot.
